Resident care workers assist nurses, facility staff and physicians in the basic care of residents. This position reports to the Registered Nurse, or Director of Nursing, and assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in our continuing care community. Administration of creams, ointments, salves. Documentation of treatments. Measuring and recording blood glucose levels. Take residents' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; report or record fluid intake and output; observe or monitor resident status and document care on charts; report to Registered Nurse any changes in status. Collect specimens such as urine, feces or sputum; administer suppositories, and perform other procedures as directed.
