Our client, a Western Canada–based mechanical services and flow control organization, is seeking a Project Manager, Major Projects to lead complex field-driven initiatives across the Lower Mainland and Alberta markets.This is a hybrid leadership role blending major project management, bid review/estimating, and technical client interface. The successful candidate will oversee major mechanical projects.Key Responsibilities Major Project Leadership (Engineering-Level Oversight) Lead and manage 8–12 concurrent major mechanical projects from bid review through execution and close-outConduct detailed bid reviews, scope validation, cost analysis, and risk assessmentAct as senior client liaison — conduct site walkthroughs, review NDT/NDE requirements, confirm weld procedures, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standardsOversee projects involving pressure vessel design, fabrication, modification, and repairEnsure adherence to ASME and applicable pressure vessel/manufacturing standardsCoordinate with P. Eng., inspectors, fabrication shops, and field crews to ensure technical integrity and quality executionManage projects across Metro Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton marketsMonitor budgets, schedules, forecasts, change orders, and commercial riskOperations & Team Leadership (Day-to-Day Oversight) Supervise and mentor a small team handling dispatch, coordination, estimating support, and field schedulingOversee equipment, inventory, and workflow management to support both major and smaller service projectsCoordinate field activities including saw cutting, slab work, demolition support,



and related mechanical scopesDevelop process improvements for scheduling, reporting, and operational efficiencyIdentify and groom emerging project managers while strengthening non-technical operational leadershipQualifications 8+ years of experience in mechanical project management, industrial construction, pressure vessel manufacturing, or related heavy mechanical environmentsDirect experience with pressure vessel design and/or manufacturing (ASME Section VIII familiarity preferred)Strong background in bid reviews, scope analysis, estimating, and commercial oversightWorking knowledge of weld procedures, NDT/NDE processes, and applicable mechanical/pressure codesExperience managing multiple concurrent projects with regional coordinationDemonstrated leadership experience supervising field teams and coordinatorsEngineering degree preferred (P. Eng. strongly valued but not mandatory)Willingness to travel between BC and Alberta as requiredIdeal Profile Robust client-facing presence with ability to guide customers through technically complex scopesComfortable operating at a General Manager level while remaining hands-onBalanced technical depth (pressure vessels, mechanical systems) with practical field knowledgeProcess-driven, organized, and commercially awareInterested in long-term progression into broader operational leadershipThis is a senior leadership opportunity for a technically grounded project professional ready to oversee major mechanical and pressure vessel initiatives while shaping operational excellence across Western Canada.
