We provide a diverse range of roles across many locations and a career where you can make a meaningful impact.THE ROLE The Fitness & Sports Instructor - CANSOFCOM, under the direction of the Fitness, Sport & Recreation Coordinator, will provide fitness and sport services within a multidisciplinary Human Performance team that includes Fitness, Sport & Recreation, Performance Dietetics, Mental Performance,
and Strength & Conditioning.The Fitness & Sports Instructor - CANSOFCOM daily tasks will include leading safe and effective group and individual physical fitness programming and coaching to CANSOFCOM members to support them in meeting and exceeding occupational fitness requirements and established employment standards.The Fitness & Sports Instructor - CANSOFCOM will lead and assist in the delivery of Bona Fide Occupational Requirement physical fitness testing including set up of testing area, implementing warm up protocols, providing transparent instructions and demonstrations to members, accurately recording results, and returning all equipment in good working order.The Fitness & Sports Instructor - CANSOFCOM will assist with fitness and sport equipment inventory tracking, identifying maintenance requirements, fitness facility design and layout, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.The Fitness & Sports Instructor - CANSOFCOM will provide fitness services in fully-equipped fitness facilities, using mobile fitness trailers having select equipment, and with minimal equipment when supporting field training in Garrison.The Fitness & Sports Instructor - CANSOFCOM will provide aquatics fitness programming and lifeguarding, when required, to support fitness programming services and employment standard testing.QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and LicensesCollege diploma in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences, or a related fieldCurrent CPR and Basic First Aid qualificationsCurrent National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Certificate, or ability to obtain within probationary periodExperienceIn preparing and conducting physical fitness training sessionsIn preparing and conducting physical fitness testing sessionsIn instructing practical health and physical fitness training modulesIn applying policies,
procedures, and regulationsIn evaluating physical fitnessIn aquatics such as lifeguarding or swim instructionCompetenciesClient focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS English Essential.
