French Teacher LTO Salary: $75,000 $125,000 In accordance with the Montcrest School Salary Grid, based on qualifications and recognized teaching experience Role: Full-Time, Fixed-Term LTO Term: January 1, 2027 June 24, 2027 Operational Calendar: School Year Location: Onsite Toronto, Ontario Benefits: Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP), if applicable, and a monthly perks stipend Open to: Internal & External Candidates We are looking for a French LTO Teacher to join Montcrest from January 1 to June 24, 2027. The successful candidate will be fluent in French, hold Ontario teaching qualifications, and have French as a Second Language (FSL) Part 1 or equivalent, with additional FSL qualifications considered an asset. Our French teachers are relationship-focused educators who create engaging, differentiated learning experiences and inspire students to build confidence communicating in French. As a member of the broader Education Team, you will support French curricular and co-curricular learning from JK to Grade 8 and contribute fully to school life through collaboration, clubs and athletics, after-school programming and events, supervision, internal coverage, and other community responsibilities. Build students confidence, curiosity, competency, and character through meaningful learning experiences. Use assessment and feedback to help students grow. Collaborate with the Student Success Team and colleagues to provide personal pathways for learners. Foster an Inclusive Community Build trusting relationships with students, families, colleagues, and school leaders. Create classrooms where students feel safe, known, valued, and encouraged to take risks. Collaborate across grades and programs to support all Montcrest students. Contribute to curricular, co-curricular, and school-wide initiatives and events that strengthen community.
Strengthen Our Learning Community Establish clear, consistent, and caring classroom routines and expectations. Participate in team and division meetings, Montcrest Wednesdays, professional learning, and other collaborative events. Support internal classroom coverage and supervision duties, including recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and school trips, as required. Contribute to clubs, athletics, arts, after-school programming, and other community opportunities based on school needs and individual strengths. Work collaboratively with teaching partners and colleagues to ensure continuity of learning throughout the LTO. About You I understand that A qualification in Education, French and a commitment to ongoing professional learning are integral to effective practice and to student learning. Relationship-based teaching is foundational to student learning and belonging. Differentiation is essential in supporting the strengths and needs of individual learners. Inclusive classrooms help every student feel protected, seen, and successful. It is important to stay curious about how students learn and use current research and professional learning to inform your teaching. I am able to Teach French effectively across a range of elementary grades. Plan meaningful learning experiences that develop conceptual understanding, competency, and character. Build authentic relationships with students and families. Collaborate with educators, the Student Success Team, leaders, and other professionals. Communicate clearly and thoughtfully through written, verbal, and digital communication.
