Grande Prairie Public School Division Invites Applications For Speech Educational Assistant Multiple Schools Full time Temporary (32.5 hours per week) Effective for the school year Competition Number: S Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found. The Educational Assistant works under the supervision of a certified teacher who retains the responsibility for planning, instruction, supervision and evaluation of the students.

Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with post-secondary training, such as the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Program
High School Diploma or equivalent
Educational Assistant Diploma with CPR/First Aid preferred
some experience working with children in an organized setting preferred
preference will be given to those with NVCI training
experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors is an asset
ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care

A current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check must be provided as a condition of employment.
