This full-time role offers an opportunity for creative litigators to engage in the Regulatory Unit. Responsibilities include conducting prosecutions under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, reviewing files, and providing pre-charge legal advice. In this role, you will handle serious cases involving workplace-related prosecutions and public safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct prosecutions for Occupational Health and Safety offences
• Provide pre-charge legal advice on investigations
• Review files and recommend charge wording
• Manage all aspects of the prosecution process
• Handle regulatory offence and Criminal Code prosecutions
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
• 0-4 years legal experience for Crown Prosecutor 1
• Active membership with the Law Society of Alberta
• Strong litigation skills and knowledge of criminal procedure
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
