Reporting to the Director of Operational Performance, the Manager, Supply Portfolio Optimization & Analytics plays a key role in driving value creation across our supply chain. Leveraging advanced analytics, scenario modeling, and the Integrated Margin Optimization (IMO) tool, this role uncovers opportunities to optimize network performance, improve margins, and support strategic business decisions.
As a trusted advisor to the Supply & Optimization senior leaders, you will transform complex data into actionable insights, influence decision-making across supply, logistics, and commercial teams, and champion data-driven strategies that deliver measurable results. This highly visible, cross-functional role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our optimization capabilities while owning and continuously enhancing our industry-leading supply chain optimization platform.
What you'll do:
Provide a central point of connection and planning across Supply, Logistics, and IT ensuring key business needs & functional requirements are implemented
Serve as the business-side product owner for the IMO tool — partnering with IT to prioritize development, validate outputs, and drive adoption across the S&O; team
Ensure key insights and trade-offs are surfaced within functional teams
Own the Integrated Margin Optimization Engine

Support portfolio and network planning processes, including target portfolio definition with required optionality across rail terminals, bulk plants, supply nodes, inventory locations, and fleet
Run scenario modeling to test sensitivities across cost, volume, and demand assumptions to ensure supply reliability and optimize margin
Develop contingency plans for short- and long-term supply disruptions (e.g., railcar delays, route shutdowns)
Drive Commercial Intelligence & Business Development
Analyze SGL's balance position and logistics dynamics — including pipeline and rail bottlenecks — to provide an integrated view of molecules and transport
Lead commercial intelligence for business development strategy, exploring middle-market opportunities; develop market scenarios to support both tactical execution and longer-range planning
Liaise with Logistics and Supply teams to align day-to-day contract lifting schedules, inventory planning, and supply movement paths with market models
Interface with Finance and Risk Management to model hedging policies under various price environments
Stakeholder Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
Serve as a trusted analytical partner to the SVP, Supply and Optimization leadership team, and cross-functional peers in Finance, Logistics, Supply, and Sales
Translate complex analyses into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior and executive leadership
Manage and mentor one Senior Analyst, providing coaching,
direction, and prioritization support
What you bring:
5-10 years of progressive experience in midstream energy, supply chain, or a related commercial/analytical function
Experience in supply chain optimization, logistics planning, or integrated margin management in energy or commodity markets
Demonstrated ability to translate quantitative analysis into strategic recommendations and influence senior decision-makers
Strong quantitative and modeling skills; comfortable overseeing and validating complex analytical work even when not building it personally
Proven cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills — able to align diverse teams around data-driven decisions. Positive interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively a requirement
Experience as a product owner or business lead for an analytical tool, platform, or system is an asset
Experience with complex problem structuring and resolution within a diverse organizational system
Familiarity with ETRM systems (e.g., RightAngle), data platforms, or business intelligence tools is an asset
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
Salary: $116,000 - $145,000 annually (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
