Become a Fire Prevention Officer at Barrie Fire and Emergency Service. This full time role emphasizes fire inspections, enforcement of the Fire Protection Act, and public safety initiatives.
In this permanent position, report to the Chief Fire Prevention Officer while leading fire inspections and addressing community safety. Key responsibilities include overseeing fire drills, issuing offense notices, and supervising public education efforts. Your expertise will ensure compliance with regulations and enhance fire safety for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections per Fire Protection and Prevention Act
• Supervise fire drill assessments in vulnerable occupancies
• Issue offense notices and prepare court documentation
• Manage fire safety plans and investigations as assigned
• Lead and guide the Public Educator on initiatives
Requirements:
• Secondary School Diploma
• NFPA certifications in relevant fire safety standards
• Five years in Fire Prevention, including one as First Class Inspector
• Valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License
• First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications
