Join Legal Aid Alberta as a full-time Indigenous Legal Services Counsel in Edmonton, focusing on client needs and high-quality legal service delivery. Your expertise will drive access to justice for Indigenous communities.

In this important position, you will be the key contact for Indigenous leaders and aid organizations, addressing legal aid-related concerns. Utilizing your robust legal background, you will support Indigenous clients in navigating the justice system and advocate for legal service improvements. Your role will focus on developing relationships and providing insights into barriers faced by Indigenous groups to enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as contact for Indigenous leaders and organizations
• Assist communities in understanding legal aid services




• Support resolution of legal service concerns
• Develop relationships with Indigenous communities
• Prepare reports on trends and recommendations

Requirements:
• Law degree from a recognized University
• Membership in good standing with Law Society of Alberta
• 5-7 years of experience in Criminal Law
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
