Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking applications for a full time Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist to provide clinical and academic service delivery. The successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric infectious diseases services at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) and will have an opportunity to develop niche areas of practice based on interest. Undergraduate, postgraduate, bedside, small group and formal didactic teaching are also components of the position. The successful candidate will have academic affiliation with the University of Saskatchewan, as well as Practitioner Staff appointments with the SHA. The offer will reflect an appropriate academic ranking based on the candidate’s prior experience.
The candidate will join a division currently consisting of three other Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialists in the Department of Pediatrics and will work with a dedicated team of General Pediatricians as well as other pediatric subspecialists in Cardiology, Development Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Medical Genetics, Metabolics, NICU, PICU, Nephrology, Neurology, Respirology, Rheumatology, Emergency Medicine, Palliative Care and Oncology.

The new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for children, mothers and families from across our province. Centrally located on the University of Saskatchewan campus, our current children’s hospital offers neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric emergency and ambulatory services. Maternal services include labour and delivery, antepartum and postoperative care. The 176-bed facility provides the highest quality of care and put Saskatchewan at the forefront of research and innovation.
Certified or eligible to be certified with theRoyal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatric Infectious Disease
Regular License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)
Additional training or an interest in Immunology is considered an asset
Valid driver’s license
Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage
