Kickstart your career with the City of Edmonton as an Infrastructure Accessibility Co-op Student. You'll tackle real-world accessibility challenges while supporting the Corporate Accessibility Plan.
This temporary full time position lasts for four months, beginning January 2027. Enrolled students in programs such as architectural design, interior design, or urban planning are encouraged to apply. You will help implement key actions to enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities through research, assessments, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support infrastructure accessibility actions and standards
• Conduct facility assessments and maintain checklists
• Assist in planning accessibility awareness sessions
• Perform hands-on assessments of City facilities
• Organize and upload field data to digital dashboards
Requirements:
• Enrolled in a related post secondary diploma co-op program
• Knowledge of accessible design principles
• Experience with Google Workspace or similar applications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to conduct site measurements and assessments
Contribute to making Edmonton more accessible and inclusive while gaining valuable professional experience.
