Role Summary
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Mobile Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing general repairs, proactive maintenance and routine building inspections of the assigned Century Group properties. This role focuses on maintaining building systems and the physical building assets, responding to maintenance requests, has a significant customer service component and participates in the on-call schedule.
Key Accountabilities
1. Responding to maintenance requests from occupants, tenants and internal staff via CMMS software (Computerized maintenance management system software)
2. Mechanical inspections, proactive maintenance and repairs to building mechanical systems
3. Performs general plumbing duties including preventative repairs, shower and faucet repairs or replacements
4. Performs general repairs around properties - hardware, doors, locks, common area building finishes, repairs inside apartment units and commercial buildings
5. Installs, tests, inspects, replaces, maintains and repairs worn or defective equipment and/or parts
6. Driving and ensuring maintenance is performed on company vehicles
7. Participating in an after hours on-call rotation
8. Other general duties, as required, including, but not limited to,
manual labour, power washing, snow removal,emergency generator testing, installation of countertops, moving furniture, basic carpentry duties, painting and general clean-up and removal which may require use of utility trailer
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED plus four to six (4-6) years' recent related experience. Trade certificate or other trades related courses considered an asset. Explicit Class 5 driver's license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to physically carry out the duties of the job which includes the ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
Ability to climb and work off ladders
Good oral and written communication skills and ability to resolve conflict
Ability to comprehend and interpret data, information and documents and ability to use technology tools and relevant software
Proven problem solving skills
Basic math and mathematical reasoning
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated history or integrity and exceptional customer service skills
Ability to work both independently and with team members
