Make a difference in the community as an Outreach Support Worker with Main Street Project. This role focuses on providing assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness in Winnipeg, including harm reduction and wellness checks.
The Van Outreach Support Worker operates outreach vans during evenings, addressing urgent needs for shelter, food, and personal care items. By leveraging a client-centered approach, you will foster dignity and self-determination amongst marginalized community members. This permanent position is vital in ensuring people receive necessary resources and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet immediate needs with food and shelter provisions
• Drive and operate outreach vans for transportation
• Respond to emergency situations with assessment and documentation
• Monitor client safety and provide basic first aid as needed
• Advocate for clients seeking access to vital services
Requirements:
• Experience in human services, particularly with homelessness
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean criminal record
• Knowledge of harm reduction and housing-first principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Support individuals in crisis, helping them access vital resources through your work with Main Street Project.
