Make a meaningful impact as a Deafblind Intervenor at Canadian Hearing Services in Kingston/Belleville. This full time role focuses on empowering individuals with combined hearing and sight loss through communication and guidance. In this permanent position, you will report to the Manager of Deafblind Intervening Services, facilitating access to information and assisting clients with their daily tasks. Candidates must have a Diploma in Deafblind services or equivalent experience working with this community. Your role will also require transportation duties, ensuring clients reach appointments safely, while providing support for assistive devices and communication methods. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a sighted guide for deafblind individuals
- Communicate effectively to facilitate interaction
- Assist clients with daily living tasks
- Transport clients to and from appointments
- Support clients with assistive technology Requirements:
- Diploma in Deafblind services or equivalent
- 3-5 years experience with deafblind individuals
- ASL training preferred
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
