THE OPPORTUNITY We are currently inviting applications from legal assistants with a minimum of 1 year of legal experience who are eager to grow, and build their skills.
This role provides support to associates and paralegals within the litigation department, reporting to the Paralegal Supervisor. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, will be organized, and flexible. A willingness to learn and a positive, professional attitude are essential; prior experience in litigation is considered an asset.
Our positions offer competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
Hours of work are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES General administrative tasks including data entry, photocopying, scanning, mail and courier package preparation, and file management
Providing backup support to other legal assistants and paralegals
Conduct court searches
Draft correspondence, a variety of legal documents including briefs, factums, and court documents
Prepare pre-trial and trial documents including maintenance of trial binders and limitations
Coordinate and schedule various applications, questionings, meetings and maintain calendars
Preparation of accounts, time entries, and billings
Respond to daily inquiries from lawyers, other legal assistants, and clients
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A minimum of 1 year direct experience as a litigation legal assistant
Be a graduate of an accredited legal assistant program
