Position: Full Time Patrol Guard

Site: Scarborough Birchmount Hospital | 3030 Birchmount Road in Toronto (Scarborough)

Overtime Method: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Payrate: $18.73/hour

Key responsibilities:

Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.

Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities

Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.

Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises

Greeting and assisting visitors, patients,



and hospital staff

De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally

Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately

Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved

Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed

Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider

Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training

English (oral and written) fluency is a must

Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
