The Opportunity:
We’re looking to fill an opening for a Manager, Sales Compensation to join our People and Culture team.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic HRBP, the Manager, Sales Compensation is responsible for the design, governance, administration, and continuous enhancement of Aviso's sales compensation programs. This role ensures that incentive plans effectively drive sales performance, support business objectives, and align with organizational priorities. Working closely with Sales, Finance, and People teams, the Manager, Sales Compensation will develop scalable processes, provide compensation analytics and insights, and ensure compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.

What your day looks like:
Sales Compensation Strategy & Program Management
Design, implement, and manage sales compensation programs, including commission plans, incentive programs, sales contests, and special recognition initiatives
Ensure compensation programs align with business objectives, sales strategies, and growth priorities
Lead annual sales compensation planning and implementation cycle, including plan design, modelling, approvals, stakeholder engagement, communications, and rollout
Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements that drive performance, engagement, and business results
Compensation Administration & Operational Excellence
Oversee the day-to-day administration of sales compensation programs and provide guidance and support to the Commission Specialist
Ensure the accurate and timely calculation, validation, and payout of incentives and commissions
Review compensation calculations, resolve complex compensation inquiries, and address escalation issues
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, and enhance operational efficiency
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
Monitor sales performance, incentive attainment, compensation outcomes, and program effectiveness
Develop and maintain compensation reporting, dashboards, and management analytics
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to Sales, Finance, and senior leadership to support decision-making
Conduct financial and performance modelling to assess the impact of proposed compensation plan changes
Governance, Compliance & Policy Management
Ensure sales compensation programs comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and corporate governance standards
Develop, maintain, and update sales compensation policies, plan documents, guidelines, and terms and conditions
Implement controls and audit processes to ensure data integrity, plan compliance, and payment accuracy
Partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams as required.
Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with Sales, Finance, People, and business leaders
Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, sales strategies,
and performance measures
Act as a trusted advisor on sales compensation matters, providing expertise and practical guidance
Clearly communicate compensation plans, program changes, and incentive results to leaders and employees
Continuous Improvement & Market Intelligence
Assess the competitiveness and effectiveness of sales compensation programs through market research and benchmarking
Monitor industry trends, emerging practices, and legislative developments related to sales compensation
Recommend and implement improvements to plan design, reporting, processes, and participant experience
Support compensation system enhancements and technology initiatives to improve scalability and efficiency
Your experience and skills:
Post-secondary education; CPA, CCP or other relevant professional designation considered an asset
7+ years of progressive experience in sales compensation, incentive design, compensation analytics, finance, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years designing, implementing, and administering sales incentive programs
Experience within asset management, wealth management, financial services, or other highly regulated industries preferred
Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of sales compensation programs, including plan design, financial modelling, implementation, governance, administration, and communications
Advanced analytical and quantitative capabilities, including experience developing performance metrics, conducting financial analysis, and leveraging data to inform compensation strategy and business decisions
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business, financial, and compensation data into clear insights and recommendations for diverse audiences, including senior leadership
Strong relationship management and influencing skills
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to develop compelling executive-level presentations and business cases
Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
Knowledge of compensation governance, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to incentive and variable pay programs
Experience developing and maintaining compensation policies, plan documents, guidelines, and governance processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; robust proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
Experience working with sales compensation, commission management, CRM, HRIS, or business intelligence systems is considered an asset
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement
Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining hands‑on in a fast‑paced and evolving environments

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $110,000 - $135,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
