Join us in powering North America!One Full time Opportunity.Your Opportunity:This position plays a key role in assessing the impacts of significant unusual transactions, assessing new accounting standards and regulations, and preparing the Company’s quarterly and annual financial statements.You will contribute to our team by:Advising on technical accounting matters and preparing supporting memos on an ad hoc basis, as requiredMonitoring technical accounting matters and communicating them to the auditors and senior management on a quarterly basisPreparing various supporting working papers on a quarterly and annual basisPreparing or reviewing certain notes and supporting working papers to the quarterly and annual financial statementsAdvising on transactional impacts to AFFO on an ad hoc basisMonitoring IFRS developments and preparing a memo to the Audit Committee summarizing significant changes to IFRS, on a quarterly basisPreparing an IFRS disclosure checklist supporting our quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures, andperforming various other SOX controls, as requiredWhat you will bring to the role:Education & Experience:Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Finance or AccountingA professional accounting designationExperience working with IFRSA minimum of 3 years of post-designation accounting experience.Past experience working as part of a Financial Reporting team, Experience working for a publicly listed company is an assetExperience with Oracle is an assetExperience with US GAAP is an assetProficiency in excel and Microsoft Office SuiteWorking Conditions:Hybrid: work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays.8 hours per day + reasonable overtime required during quarter ends.Core hours are from 7:30-8:30 through 4:30-5:30.Additional DetailsIn order to be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.Capital Power employees that refer a successful candidate for this position are eligible for a $ 1000 Referral Reward!We believe that creating a culture that supports employee physical, mental, financial,
