Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is currently seeking a Junior Maintenance Worker to join our team in a fast-paced metal fabrication and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on maintenance experience and a willingness to learn while supporting the inspection, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and productive production operations.

The following tasks and duties are to be performed in a safe, consistent, and timely manner.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Observe and perform all safety rules and precautions.
Inspect, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot various types of machinery and equipment, including presses, welders, front‑end loaders, lift trucks, and other manufacturing equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance activities according to established schedules.
Maintain essential building systems and assist with facility maintenance as required.
Respond to maintenance work requests and accurately record all repairs completed.
Assist with the coordination and oversight of contractors performing maintenance work on‑site.
Requisition maintenance supplies, parts, and services as required.
Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are maintained through the applicable maintenance software programme.




Complete daily maintenance reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Provide maintenance support to production departments to minimize equipment downtime.
Clothing, footwear, and grooming are to meet company safety guidelines.
Operate equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Report any personal incidents/injuries immediately to your Supervisor or Lead Hand.
Make every attempt to meet required schedules, consistent with high quality workmanship and safety. Ensure thorough completion of work to eliminate re‑work.
Identify equipment issues and communicate these immediately to your Supervisor or Lead Hand.
Have a full understanding of work to be performed as directed by your Supervisor or Lead Hand.
Obtain technical support as needed to adequately complete assigned work.
Identify and communicate technical reasons work cannot be performed as specified.
Advise your Supervisor of any problems or conditions that could affect productivity or equipment performance.
Accurately recorded time starting and finishing each assigned task.
Maintain ongoing communication regarding the status of assigned work with your Supervisor or Lead Hand.
Exercise careful use of company‑owned equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies.




Keep personal work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Ensure maintenance equipment and tools are properly maintained and returned to their designated storage locations after use.
Assist with the training and support of new employees as required.
Pursue ongoing skills upgrading to keep pace with changing equipment and maintenance technologies.
Maintain a self‑motivated, positive, and outgoing attitude.
Use professional behaviour and language with customers, contractors, and fellow employees.
Call your Supervisor before the start of your shift if you will not be reporting to work.
Perform any other duties as requested by your Supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. or more.
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
Comprehensive understanding of industrial equipment operation and preventative maintenance practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, manuals, and drawings.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Pay Range: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour.

Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent.
