Join Our Team!
Are you an HR professional who enjoys being more than just a desk behind the scenes?

We’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team for a 24-month contract and play an important role in supporting our employees, leaders and business. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, building relationships, solving problems and seeing the direct impact of their work.

At Britespan, HR is highly connected to the day-to-day business. You’ll work closely with employees and leaders across the organization while gaining hands‑on experience across the full HR spectrum.

What You'll Do
You’ll be involved in a broad range of HR activities, including:

Lead full-cycle recruitment, from job postings and interviews through to offers and employment contracts

Partner with leaders on hiring, onboarding and talent acquisition strategies

Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and leaders on HR-related questions and concerns

Support employee relations, performance management, attendance, accommodations and workplace issues

Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and programs

Support compliance with employment legislation across the jurisdictions in which Britespan operates

Manage employee records and confidential HR information

Coordinate onboarding and help ensure new employees have a positive start

Support training and development initiatives, including mandatory compliance training

Manage WSIB claims, incident reporting and return-to-work processes

Support workplace accommodations and leave-of-absence processes

Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee

Maintain HR systems, attendance records and HR-related reporting

Develop and track HR metrics and KPIs

Contribute to process improvements and HR projects that make our workplace more efficient and employee-focused

Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture

What We're Looking For
You’re someone who is organized, approachable, practical and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. You know how to balance employee needs with business requirements and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

Ideally, you bring:

Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field

2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a Generalist, Coordinator or Administrator role

Experience with recruitment and talent acquisition

Experience supporting employee relations and conflict resolution

Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organization and attention to detail

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

A high level of confidentiality and professionalism

Robust computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with HRIS systems and/or Smartsheet is an asset

CHRP designation or working toward CHRP is an asset

Why You'll Love This Opportunity
A role with variety. No two days in HR are exactly the same. You’ll have exposure to recruitment, employee relations, compliance, health & safety, training, analytics and HR projects.

Real responsibility. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful HR initiatives and work directly with leaders and employees across the organization.

A chance to make an impact. Your work will directly influence the employee experience and help support a positive, productive workplace.

A collaborative team. You’ll work alongside experienced HR and business leaders who value ideas, initiative and continuous improvement.

A meaningful 24-month opportunity. This contract provides stability while giving you the opportunity to build your experience, expand your HR skill set and make a lasting contribution.

About You
You’re not looking for a role where you simply check boxes.

You enjoy people, problem‑solving and variety. You can have a difficult conversation when needed, jump into a recruitment challenge, help a leader navigate an employee issue, analyze HR data and then turn around and work on a new project.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Britespan is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment and selection process.
