TDG has grown rapidly over the last 5 years and therefore we are searching for talented individuals to grow with our company.Job Description:Spearhead complex 3D models, assemblies, customer drawings, and production drawings using SolidWorksCreate and review 2D drawings as per GD&T standardsDesign current and retrofit lighting fixtures from concept to production releaseDevelop and maintain bills of materials, design documents, design standards, templates, and workflowsMeet with customers and vendors to ensure designs meet all required specificationsEvaluate and recommend design improvements based on feedback from internal and external stakeholdersSupport continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve products, processes, and design practiceDesign products to comply with material and fire-smoke-toxicity declarations,
along with regional or international standardsConduct design reviews and verify design compliance with customer requirements, applicable standards, and internal procedureProvide guidance and mentorship to junior designers,electrical, methods, and testing departments to create jigs, prototypes, or production partsRequirements and Experience3+ years in a design engineering role or 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering roleDegree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or EquivalentExperience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, Pro-E, Fusion 360 etc.Experience using a PDM system and revision managementProficiency with GD&T, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for ManufacturabilityKnowledge in machining, injection molding, die casting, and metal / plastic extrusion processesBe a strong team player with excellent communication skillsHave excellent organizational, reporting, and follow-up skillsComply with all TDG Policies and ProgramsPreferred SkillsStrong proficiency with SolidWorksUnderstand how costing and manufacturing methods / processes work togetherFamiliar with rail and photometry standards as per international or regional requirementsAbility to mentor junior team membersEducationDiploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (Design) / University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
