Applicantsare required to have a demonstrated knowledge,understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.Reporting to the Manager Northwest Regional Renal Program with amatrix report to the Coordinator Renal Services,you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care topatients including complex patient populations whoseoutcomes are not predictable. As part of a multidisciplinaryhealth care team, you will practice within the ProfessionalStandards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy ofpatient and family centered care, mission vision,values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health SciencesCentre.Applicants must have the following qualifications:Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse withthe College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent certification in BCLSRecent experience in Renal Nursing, with a preference inHemodialysis experience, with experience in the care of complex patient populations with a focus on dialysis nursingAbility to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation)
in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and deliveryIdentify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate actionAbility to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventionsStrong interprofessional and communication skillsIn addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:Have the Nephrology Certification (CNephC)Salary Range: $41.150 to 58.980The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety andsecurity of the patients, visitors, employees and assetsfinancial and otherwise.
