OVERVIEWHiring for a major bank: Corporate Actions Specialists to join its Operations group. As a Corporate Actions Specialist, you will manage corporate action events from announcement through to payment for securities held on behalf of the bank's clients.The team processes a large, steady volume of corporate action events, including mergers, acquisitions, dividends, interest payments, maturities and redemptions, announced through major depositories such as CDS, DTC, BNP and Citi. Each event can affect a large number of client accounts, so accuracy, attention to detail and a robust understanding of the corporate action lifecycle are essential.There are openings in three functional areas: Corporate Action Notifications, Reorganizations (Mandatory and Voluntary) and Entitlements. You will be matched to one area based on your experience.12 month contract to startRates: $35-$40 / hourRESPONSIBILITIESCorporate Action NotificationsReview daily depository bulletins and market announcementsInterpret event terms and prepare accurate notices to shareholdersPublish notices for mandatory and voluntary reorganizations, cash dividends, interest events and other corporate actionsValidate key event details such as dates, ratios, options and deadlines before releaseIdentify and escape discrepancies between depository announcements and internal recordsReorganizations (Mandatory and Voluntary)Process mandatory events such as mergers, acquisitions, name changes, consolidations and splits on their effective datesProcess voluntary events such as tender offers and elections, and track client instructions through to expiryUpdate client positions by removing existing securities and crediting new shares or cashManage multiple events at once in a high-volume,



deadline-driven environmentReconcile positions and payments and resolve breaksEntitlementsProcess declared distributions, including cash and stock dividends, interest payments, maturities and redemptionsCalculate and allocate entitlements to client accounts on BroadridgeReconcile payments received from depositories against amounts allocatedInvestigate and resolve payment discrepancies and outstanding itemsAll AreasExtract and reconcile data from Broadridge and internal systemsBuild Excel tools and trackers to support day-to-day processing and resolve ad hoc issuesSupport month-end and peak-volume periodsFollow control procedures and keep documentation accurateQUALIFICATIONSRequired1+ year of hands‐on corporate actions experience in notifications, reorganizations or entitlementsStrong understanding of the corporate action lifecycle, from announcement to paymentExperience working with depositories such as CDS, DTC, BNP or CitiAdvanced Excel skillsAvailable to commit to the full 12-month contract termLegally eligible to work in CanadaPreferred4 to 5 years of corporate actions experienceExperience with BroadridgeBackground at a Canadian bank, broker‐dealer or custodianExcel macro / VBA experienceExposure to both mandatory and voluntary reorganization processingStrong problem‐solving skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to manage competing deadlinesWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
