Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Board's hiring processes.General Description Of DutiesThe Hall Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful and academically focused school setting. This role involves active supervision of hallways, washrooms, cafeterias, and other common areas. The Hall Monitor supports school staff in enforcing behavioural and uniform expectations, de- escalating conflicts, and ensuring student safety and compliance with school policies.Patrol hallways and maintain a visible presence to ensure student and staff safetyEnforce school rules including uniform and behavioural expectationsRedirect students to appropriate locations such as classrooms, guidance, or the officeDe-escalate conflicts and report incidents including but not limited to aggression, intoxication,



or property damageMonitor washrooms for safety, cleanliness, and prohibited activities such as vaping or drug useSupervise the cafeteria during lunch periods and ensure cleanliness and appropriate behaviourMonitor bus loading/unloading zones and enforce traffic and parking rulesCollaborate with administration and teaching staff regarding student behaviour and attendanceSupport emergency drills and provide assistance during emergency response team (ERT) callsWrite incident reports and provide witness statements when requiredMinimum RequirementsCompletion of secondary school. Completion of a post-secondary program related to law enforcement, security or in Youth Outreach/Youth Support Worker would be an assetMinimum 1-2 years' experience related to the above dutiesPrevious experience in law enforcement, security or in Youth Outreach/Youth Support Worker would be considered an assetStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to de-escalate conflicts and manage challenging behavioursSound judgment and ability to act independentlyComfort working in potentially stressful situations and maintaining confidentialityAbility to maintain professionalism when interacting with students, colleagues, parents and community membersApplicants must attach diplomas/certificates required for this position to the resume in order to be considered a candidate for the position.Hourly Rate: $29.58 to $31.08 per hourHours of Work: Permanent Full-time,
