This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL franchise atanintermediatelevel position which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a major league sports team.This position is responsible for the supervision of all 3rd party part-time custodial team members who clean and maintain the Canadian Tire Centre (CTC).Number of vacancies– this is a replacement roleKey ResponsibilitiesOngoingResponsible for cleaning and providing high standards of custodian care for the interior and exterior during events at CTCSupervise 3rd party custodial team members and ensure that they are provided with the proper materials and equipment to successfully complete their tasksResponsible for the coordination of the pest control activities for the facilities, ensuring that high standards are maintained throughoutBack up to Custodial Supervisor as requiredDay to Day – Hands on ActivitiesEnsure all restrooms are stocked at all time with soap, toilet paper, and other suppliesEnsure that the proper inventory of supplies is on hand and maintain accurate recordsReference event riders for specifics instructionsResponsible for ensuring that conference rooms are properly cleanedPerform custodial duties when required, which may include dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing fixtures, equipment or CTC furnitureOperate light cleaning equipmentAssist event promoters with requests, and provide excellent customer serviceResponsible for ensuring that staff is properly trained in all areas covered by Occupational Health & SafetyResponsible for the supervision of the cleaning and providing high standards of custodian care for the interior and exterior during events at CTC.Periodically supervise post event overnight cleaning team members and ensure that they are provided with proper materials and equipment to successfully complete their task.Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.Health & Safety Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesResponsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:Performing workplace inspectionsConducting safety information sessionsAdhered to all OSHA regulations and followed closely to MSDS forms for special instructions for chemical use.Assisting with incident investigationsEnsuring that staff is properly trained and advised of safety hazardsObserving team members as they perform their duties to ensure safety measures are being followed, and ensuring corrective action is taken if safety measures are not being maintainedRecognizing team members who follow workplace safetyQualifications (what we look for)Must be available for shift work including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMinimum 2 years' previous experience as a supervisor in an industrial environmentKnowledge of occupational health and standard safety act, Sanitation Standards, Pest Control and Waste guidelinesAbility to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlinesMust be physically able to do heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and comfortable working at heightsMust possess effective oral and written communication skillsTeam playerWho We AreThe Ottawa Senators Hockey Club is a professional sports organization competing in the National Hockey League (NHL) and representing Canada's capital city.
