This role requires the Occupational Safety Specialist to:Work in Remote Lodge locationsScheduled rotation for this position is 2 weeks on site and 2 weeks offRemote Lodges/Camp experience is an assetTransportation is providedComprehensive Benefit PlanPlease note all candidates considered for hire will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment D&A test and criminal background checkJob ResponsibilitiesImplement the Aramark SAFE programDevelop and/or modify safety policies and programsAnalyze results and benchmark data and provide recommendations to leadership to improve safety performanceMinimize liability exposuresInitial point of contact for any safety incident and with enforcement agencies (Ministry of Labour, Public Health etc.)Participate in all Board of Inquiries for safety incidentsPrepare and distribute results/findings to internal and external customersConduct audits and inspectionsComplete risk assessments,



identify opportunities and build plans to address the risk proactivelyDraft and distribute monthly safety bulletin to all leaders at the remote CampDetermine trends and create preventative corrective action plansEnsure participation and alignment with site safety programsConduct new staff orientationsInvestigate all safety events (both Occupational and Food Safety)Qualifications3-5 years of experience in a role with Occupational Health and safety responsibilitiesKnowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, industry good practiceMust be comfortable with frequent computer usage; good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is requiredStrong organizational, leadership, time management and team influencing skills are essential for success in this roleGeneral understanding of Ontario food safety regulations and safe food handling proceduresPrevious experience working in remote camps, mining or similar industry would be a considerable assetPrevious experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) would be an assetCertificationsValid JHSC certification - preferredAdvanced Food Handler Certification ? preferredAbility to demonstrate achievement or complete any additional certifications that may be required prior to startCRSP, CRST or working towards another recognized professional designation would be an asset?About AramarkAt Aramark, we empower our people to create moments that matter through exceptional hospitality experiences.
