Employee Relations AdvisorJob DescriptionEMPLOYEE RELATIONS ADVISORPLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates programs in more than 240 schools providing before and after school care. PLASP also operates 38 full-day early learning and child care centres and 6 EarlyON locations for children from 0 - 6 years.PLASP is committed to hiring, training, and fairly compensating staff. We believe that everyone has worth and value, and that all staff are entitled to be respected, supported, and treated fairly by their co-workers and supervisors.Reporting to the HR Manager, Employee Experience, the Employee Relations Advisor provides guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace conflicts, investigations, accommodations, and policy interpretation, while supporting a positive, inclusive, and engaging employee experience.The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:Provides day-to-day HR support and coaching to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, discipline, employee conflict, terminations, and workplace accommodationsLeads and supports workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, and policy violations, including analysis of findings and preparation of recommendationsPrepares clear, well-organized,



and comprehensive investigation reports and employee relations documentationPrepares formal documentation for employee disciplinary matters in accordance with company policyCoaches and supports managers in conducting difficult conversationsInterprets and applies HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment legislation to support managers with sound decision-makingPartners with the Benefits & Disability Specialists and provides support with workplace accommodation, disability management, return-to-work, and attendance management processesCollaborates with Health and Safety Specialist and provides support with matters related incident reviews and implementation of corrective actionsIdentifies & analyzes employee relations trends; provides data-informed insights and recommendations to mitigate risksContributes to HR projects and initiativesDelivers HR-related training as requiredSupports HR Manager, Employee Experience by assisting with the implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing PLASP's overall employee experienceWorks in partnership with HR Manager, Employee experience and DEI Manager to support Diversity & Inclusion Program, as neededProvides ongoing support to the Employee Experience TeamA University degree or post-graduate certificate in Human ResourcesCHRP/CHRL designation an assetA Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience,



with a strong focus on employee relationsDemonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations casesWorking knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Human Rights Code, and WSIB.Excellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated problem solving and analytical skillsExperience Child Care Services is an assetProven ability to collaborate, mediate and resolve conflictsSound judgement and discretion in making informed decisionsAdaptable and solutions orientedAdvanced computer skills, including, MS Office, HRIS with databased management systemsA positive and supportive working environment.Growth and learning opportunities.Hyrbid work model that embraces both on-site and work from home to support each team's core prioritiesSalary Range (Based on experience and qualifications): $73 151 - $86 867Vacation starting at three weeks' vacationAn opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children.PLASP Child Care Services is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
