Across three sites, FHC provides health-related services grounded in the social determinants of health, community engagement, equity, inclusion, accountability, excellence, collaboration, and partnerships.Position Summary:We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Community Health Ambassadors - Youth Outreach Workers to join our Youth Violence Prevention team. The successful candidates will be responsible for community engagement and connecting with and supporting outreach initiatives for MVP youths (youths most vulnerable to involvement in serious violence and crime) in the Flemingdon Park, Thorncliffe Park, and Victoria Village community.



This is a unionized position.Responsibilities include:· Conduct outreach in spaces where youth in the Flemingdon Park and Thorncliffe Park community congregate · Connect youth to support systems in their own community· Aid youth in improving their social skills and become more involved in leisure and recreational activities as well as connect them to faith-based institutions and cultural activities and organizations · Facilitate activities, workshops, and programs including life skills to youth and partners· Conduct outreach, influence policy, and participate in community level committees/forums to represent youth's perspectives · Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders· All other associated tasks as determined by the project coordinator and partner agency staff· Successful applicants will be expected to work closely with youth of the Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park communities, thus close knowledge of these communities is desired Skills and Qualifications:Must be between the ages of 16 and 29Formal or informal mentorship, group, or peer work experienceFamiliar with community resources and navigationLeadership, communication, and organizational skillsLanguage Preferences or other requirements Preferable from the 3 communities, speaks the prevalent languages, Urdu, Pashto, Farsi Dari, Arabic.Note: This is a bargaining unit position with UFCW.
