St. Joseph's Health Centre is looking to recruit Sonographers to join our wonderful team. We are located in the West end, within walking distance of beautiful High Park, Lake Ontario and the Martin Goodman Trail. We are easily accessible by TTC and the Gardiner Expressway, and have onsite monthly or day pass parking at a reasonable rate.Looking to learn new skills or maintain all that you've trained in? Our team works in a fast paced environment performing all types of ultrasound in one department, including high risk obstetric studies, abdominal and pelvic exams, OBSP breast imaging, many types of vascular and MSK studies, special procedures and interventional ultrasound. We service a busy emergency department, adult and neonatal intensive care units and a large walk-in pediatric clinic, enabling you to hone your skills in acute care imaging.Our Unity Health Toronto pay range is exceptionally competitive compared to peer GTA hospitals. Very reasonably priced on-site gym with fitness classes and corporate wellness activities are also available.We look forward to meeting you and have you join our team!Duties & ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates proficiency in all aspects of a Generalist SonographerDocuments, reports and reviews ultrasound findings to provide an accurate patient diagnosisPossesses a key element of professionalism, meeting a standard of education with the required knowledge, skills and judgment to perform competentlyTo function as the very image of care; actively working as theessential link between compassionate care and diagnosis using medical sonographyEnsures the care provided is safe, appropriate, tailored, timely,



and maximizes the potential of the available equipment and resourcesDemonstrates commitment to a patient- and family-centered approach to careRespects patient rights and needs, and foster an environment that encourages the patient¿s involvement in their own care. This commitment is extended to patients from all cultures and backgrounds, ensuring all are treated with dignity, equity and respect.Shares their knowledge and expertise collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, such as both staff and students, both internally and externally in a positive manner that promotes an inclusive environmentParticipates in quality control, assurance and improvement programsDemonstrates critical thinking skills with the ability to manage competing demandsAssists radiologists with special procedures performed under ultrasound guidanceMonitors patient status and responds to any change in condition, to ensure patient safety and comfortShould have the ability to work in an academic environmentOrganizes, prioritizes and co-ordinates scheduling of procedures, communicates verbally with appropriate personnel regarding procedure types, lab results, equipment failures, policies and proceduresMust be able to work independently and without supervisionActively participates in all research activities and examinations as requiredOther duties as assigned and required for operational purposesQualificationsGraduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound ProgramMust be licensed by and in valuable standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)Registration and in good standing with Sonography Canada (SC) as a Generalist Sonographer (CRGS) preferredRegistration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS - AB, OB/GYN) an assetRegistration with the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS) an assetVascular, MSK, and Obstetrical experience an assetCertification in Vascular, MSK would be an assetRecent hospital experience an assetExcellent interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organizational skillsUnderstanding and commitment to the Hospital's Mission and ValuesDemonstrated ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective mannerExcellent problem recognition and problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team memberAbility to meet patient, family and staff needs in an efficient mannerCommitted to meeting the goals and objectives of the departmentMust be flexible, punctual and have a satisfactory attendance recordDemonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, and manage time effectivelyUnity Health Toronto is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
