Responsible for the utilization and balancing of all resources on shift to ensure efficient shift productivity while maintaining full adherence to safety and quality. Must effectively communicate with shipping, maintenance, quality and both the fabrication and packing teams on a regular basis. Responsible for the development and growth of shift employees involving areas of behaviour, communication, productivity, and career progression.Duties And ResponsibilitiesLead by example following Almag's PROUD valuesLead, motivate, and inspire the team to meet or exceed performance targetsIdentify skill gaps and work with employees to bring them to expected performance levels, hold employees accountable and help them develop.Create a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, respect, and employee engagementDrive team morale through clear communication of expectationsEncourage open communication and create a safe space for team members to voice concerns or share ideasReview and analyse daily requirements and ensure plans are communicated and executed.Work closely and continuously while in constant communication with all departments to resolve any issues and discrepanciesParticipate in accident/incident investigation processes & complete corrective actionsSet clear expectations and provide regular updates on progressMonitor daily operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and proceduresResponsible to address performance issues promptly and constructively, seeking manager and HR advice as necessary to manage escalated concernsResponsible for the development and growth of shift employees involving areas of behaviour, communication, productivity,



and career progressionParticipate and lead regular performance evaluations and coaching opportunities as they ariseResponsible for ensuring manpower for the current shift & next shift is balanced and fully staffed by managing call-ins; request support from other departments and/or call temporary work force as requiredConduct daily verifications of the attendance system and manage employee timesheet approvals in DayforceAddress employee concerns and contact the Manager and Human Resources for guidance and supportHold Packing/Fabrication Leads accountable on daily performanceResponsible for setting up the next shift for success by ensuring smooth continuation of production through cleanliness, WIP adherence, material preparation, and communicationMonitor fabrication and packing production throughout each shift to ensure Leads have the necessary support and tools available for a successful shiftOversee the Fabrication and Packing Leads to verify they are following required packing instructionsSupport compliance with all Quality management policies and procedures, and when required, contact the Quality team for support on appearance or dimensional concernsParticipate in NCR root cause investigations when requiredReview machine status with previous supervisor and discuss any issues/downtimeEnsure work orders are entered for all equipment issuesConduct shift handovers at the beginning and end of every shift. Review WIP, manpower utilization, priority orders, NCRs, etc. so the following supervisor is setup for successPromote continuous cross-training and process improvement with-in team.Check to ensure first offs are being conducted in fabricationEnsure compliance to all quality & safety related policies,



procedures and system requirementsPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/ExperiencePost-Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years of previous leading experience in a manufacturing environment with proven effectivenessConventional Fabrication and Machining experience would be an assetHealth and Safety Certification or equivalent an assetTechnical Skills/CompetenceEffective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and peopleAble to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstaclesA explicit and solid understanding of policies, procedures, and Core ValuesEffective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracyHigh level of integrity, confidentially, and accountabilitySound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, and an ability to think outside-the-boxProven ability to deliver on commitmentsA well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skillsMust have good team building and motivational skillsGood command of English, written and oralUnderstanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and numeracy comprehensionThe ability to read blueprints is an assetMicrosoft Office proficient, especially Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelFamiliarity with software such as EPICS an assetBenefitsProfit SharingHealth & DentalHealth Care Spending AccountEducation Assistance ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Company EventsFloater DaysPaid HolidaysShift PremiumsAnnual safety footwear reimbursement programThe expected pay range for this position is $31.00 to $36.00 per hour.
