Our client is currently working through a payroll system implementation and, in the interim, is operating with a highly manual payroll process. The successful candidate will be a hands-on payroll professional who understands the full end-to-end payroll process and can step in immediately to provide operational support and expertise.

The Payroll Consultant will be responsible for the following:

- Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing in a hands-on capacity (4 weekly payrolls)
- Support payroll operations within a large, complex, multi-provincial payroll environment.
- Work with and support payroll processes for a highly unionized workforce.
- Utilize UKG to process payroll and generate required reports.
- Troubleshoot payroll issues and identify practical solutions within a highly manual environment.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable legislation and company requirements.
- Support payroll-related requirements associated with WSIB.




- Assist with payroll system implementation activities and process improvements.
- Provide day-to-day payroll expertise and support to the existing team during this period of transition.

Must Have:

- Hands-on, end-to-end payroll experience with a strong understanding of payroll operations.
- Experience with UKG, including the ability to pull and analyze payroll reports.
- Experience managing large, multi-provincial
- Experience working in a unionized setting; experience with heavily unionized organizations is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of WSIB requirements and processes.
- Ability to work effectively within a manual payroll environment while systems and processes are being implemented.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly step into an existing payroll operation.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability
