Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join their team.ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable, including reviewing invoices and expense reports, processing payments, and maintaining vendor recordsMonitor and follow up on accounts receivable and outstanding balancesAssist with client billing and invoicing, including processing disbursements, write-offs, write-downs, and transfersPrepare and revise client accounts and coordinate the billing process with lawyers and legal assistantsMaintain accurate financial and client recordsManage billing and client rates within the accounting systemAssist with month-end and year-end financial closing proceduresReconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies,
and ensure data accuracyAssist with financial reporting and other accounting-related reportsSupport general and trust audits and ensure compliance with applicable requirementsProvide general accounting support and assist with special projects as requiredRequirementsBookkeeping or accounting certification is preferred3+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, or related experiencePrevious experience in a law firm or professional services environment is an assetWorking knowledge of QuickBooks is requiredStrong understanding of accounting principlesProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience with legal practice management software, including Clio, is an assetExcellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepanciesStrong organisational and time‐management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasksExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a teamCompensationSalary up to $70,000, commensurate with experienceOpportunity to join a collaborative and skilled team
