Job Title: Counterbalance / Reach Truck OperatorJob Type: Temporary ongoing with the opportunity to go permanentLocation: Kingston, ONShift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pmPay Rate: $21.00/hr - $23.00/hr (depending on experience)The Counterbalance / Reach Truck Operator is responsible for safely moving, storing, loading, unloading, and retrieving wire, reels, pallets, and other materials throughout the warehouse and yard. This role also supports shipping, receiving, production, and general warehouse operations as required.The position requires solid attention to detail, accurate product verification, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy warehouse and yard workplace.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks in the warehouse and yardLoad, unload, move, and accurately place wire, reels, pallets, and other materialsVerify product numbers, descriptions, sizes, quantities, labels, and reel information before moving or staging materialsInspect materials for visible damage, incorrect labelling, or discrepancies and report concerns to the supervisorPull and stage orders for shippingLoad trucks safely and verify products against shipping documentationSecure materials appropriately for transportUnload incoming shipments and stage products in designated areasVerify received materials and report shortages, overages, or damageSupply wire and materials to production or other departments as requiredUse scanners, inventory systems, paperwork, and other warehouse tools accuratelyComplete daily forklift and equipment inspectionsMaintain organized warehouse, staging, and yard areasAssist with yard cleanup, including organizing reels, removing debris,



and keeping travel paths clearSupport other warehouse departments as requiredFollow company procedures, operating standards, and workplace safety requirementsPerform other related warehouse duties as assignedRequirementsPrevious experience operating counterbalance forklifts and reach trucksCurrent forklift certification or completion of required company trainingPrevious warehouse, shipping, receiving, distribution, or material-handling experienceAble to read and follow shipping, receiving, and material-handling instructionsStrong attention to detail when verifying products, quantities, labels, and documentationBasic computer, scanner, or warehouse management system experience considered an assetExperience with Zebra scanners considered an assetFamiliarity with wire, cable, reels, or similar materials considered an assetAble to work independently and as part of a teamReliable, punctual, and safety-focusedPhysical Requirements / Work ConditionsAble to lift, move, and handle materials weighing 50 lbs. or more as requiredAble to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shiftAble to operate forklift and warehouse equipment for extended periodsWork is performed in both warehouse and outdoor yard environmentsMust be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditionsRequired PPE must be worn, including safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, gloves, and other designated protective equipmentBusy warehouse and yard environment with regular equipment and material movementWe acknowledge that software used in our recruitment and selection process may have Artificial Intelligence components built in but confirm that all work assignment decisions are made by our expertly trained staff.
