Job SummaryThe Field Service Technician is responsible for service, installation, and support of Weinig/Holzher equipment for the furniture, cabinet, millwork, molding, lumber and other related industries.Primary Areas of ResponsibilitiesResponds to customers in a pleasant, skilled, and timely mannerMaintains / develops rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvementsDiagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper corrective actionsDocument service and installation actions by completing work orders, parts forms, and inspection reports. Ensure these reports are returned promptly for processingInstruct and provide training to customers and colleagues on proper use regarding applications, operation and maintenance, hardware failures, software and programmingAssist customers to achieve optimum efficiency and machine reliabilityUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional industry publicationsIncrease the value of the service call by seeking to apply additional service or parts where possibleDevelopment of Weinig Holzher Canada’s service businessOther duties as assignedEducation, Experience, Skill and RequirementsMechanical, electrical/electronics skills with industrial/capital equipmentExperience with computers, pneumatic and hydraulicsDrive systems, PLC, programming logicExperience in the woodworking industry a plusClass 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver abstractProvide a reliable vehicle for business use appropriate of a service technicianAbility to adapt to changing priorities and processes,



work effectively under pressureProficient with computers (Microsoft Office and Windows, CAD/CAM software)Ability to take direction and offer positive feedbackStandard hand tools requiredLift and carry weights of 50 pounds or moreAbility to work on all components of equipment, above, below or aroundAbility to work independently and make decisions combined with the ability to work as part of a team and share informationExcellent customer service skillsStrong time management and organization skills with a keen attention to detailValid Passport for out of country travelCurrent immunizations and vaccinations for domestic and international travelWorking ConditionsPossibility of exposure to flammable substances, Dust particulate, load noiseWork “on call” or outside of regular hours if requiredLong periods of, sitting, standing, crouching, lifting and bendingTravel on short notice and for extended periods may be requiredHealth and SafetySafety is critical in all Weinig Holzher Canada Operations and this position plays a key role in ensuring the safety of Weinig Holzher Canada staff, customers, the public and the environment by being a leader in safety behaviour and communication.
