and a minimum of$2,000,000 in liability coverageKnowledge & SkillsStrong leadership and communication skillsExperience facilitating with groupsExperience working with diverse populationsOrganization and time management skillsExceptional customer service attitude and skillsKnowledgeable in mental wellness challenges and community supportsProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookWhat does this role look like at the YMCA of Southwestern Alberta?Reporting to the Director of Community Programs, the Community Helpers Coordinator, is responsible for administering a peer support program focused on mental health promotion and suicide awareness. Our goals is to build the capacity of youth and young adults in our community to help others access formal support and to address stigma related to help- seeking.The responsibilities and duties of this role will include but is not limited to:Customer ServiceBe committed to exceptional customer service and create opportunities to enhance every person's YMCA experienceRepresents the YMCA and association in a professional manner is internal and external forumsBuild community capacity for mental health promotionProvide young people and our community with accurate information and resources related to mental health and suicide preventionFacilitate training sessions with up to 30 peopleYMCA ValuesDemonstrate and promote a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA and its programs and servicesDemonstrates appropriate behaviors in line with our Mission, Vision and Values as reflected in our YMCA competencies; takes a member focused approach to increase their understanding of programs offered across the Association.TeamworkAttend all YMCA meetings as requiredWork effectively within the Community team, contributing to its overall success by:Promoting the YMCA's annual Y Connect CampaignPromoting and/or attending YMCA eventsContributing to a positive and healthy workplace cultureOther duties to assist the team, as assignedWork effectively with the community to provide training,
