We are faith-based, not-for-profit organizations committed to creating safe, comfortable communities where individuals experience caring, belonging, and purpose.The OpportunityLocation Good SamaritanVillage By The Station270 Hastings Ave, Penticton, BC V2A 2V6Employment Type Permanent Full Time 1.0Expected Start Date As soon as possibleHours of Work 0930-1745Wages $29.72/hourEmployee Group HEUReporting to the Hospitality Manager or Site Manager, Cook II' s prepares, cook, and bake food for residents, staff and visitors in a safe manner according to menus and applicable processes, including diet therapeutic items and special requests while adhering to standardized recipes, production sheets and special lists. Cook II's ensure all food preparation and handling functions provided by Food Services are completed in a safe and satisfactory manner, in accordance with established standards, processes and quantity controls.Educational and other QualificationsALBERTA EMPLOYEES: Food Safety Certificate or equivalentKnowledge, Skills,



and AbilitiesComfortable using a computer including email and internetStrong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional mannerAble to communicate in English both verbally and in writing so others can easily interpret and understand it fullyExhibits an open and sincere approach by demonstrating respect and compassion for everyone equallyMaintains an individual's dignity and self-worth during conversationsDemonstrates flexibility by changing routine to accommodate client/resident needsWork ExperienceExperience working with the elderlyThree to five years Institutional Cooking experience (other relevant experience may be considered)RequirementsA current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.Internal Closing Date: September 25, 2026Good Samaritan is committed to upholding the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation in the workplace at all levels of the organization, as well as in the delivery of our services.
