Support vulnerable adults in emergency shelters as a Shelter Resource Worker with Lookout Housing and Health Society. Engage directly with individuals facing homelessness and provide essential services and linkages.
This casual position requires a compassionate individual dedicated to helping clients navigate multiple barriers. As a Shelter Resource Worker, you will perform intakes, support services, and liaise with external agencies. This role demands a solid understanding of community resources helping disadvantaged adults. Availability for various shifts, including days and evenings, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide supervision and assistance to homeless adults
• Accept referrals and share information with external resources
• Refer guests to necessary community services
• Conduct interviews and ensure a protected environment
• Complete records and maintain statistical data
Requirements:
• Related Certificate or Grade 12 plus two years of experience
• Familiarity with community services related to mental health and addictions
• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector required
