ASSISTANT POWER SKATING INSTRUCTORPosition Type: Temporary Part TimeNumber of Positions: One (1)Department: Community Services Department - Recreation DivisionFile Number: SV26-104Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Road, Belleville, ON)Hours: Fall Season: Tuesdays 5:00pm – 7:15pm (hours subject to change based on ice availability and registered participant numbers)Employee Group: Non-UnionSalary: Grade 6 $26.14 - $28.28 per hourClosing Date: Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 4:30 PMPurpose and ScopeThe Assistant Power Skating Instructor assists the Power Skating Instructor to provide instruction to children and youth in the City of Belleville's Power Skating Programs.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and for ensuring the rules and regulations set out by the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department and/or outside organizations are followedRepresent the City with professionalism by following all of the Staff Policies and Procedures set out by the DepartmentMust be knowledgeable of City Programs and have robust public relation skillsResponsible for assisting to provide skating instruction and feedback to students and their parents in the City's power skating programsAssist the Power Skating Instructor in an emergency situationAssist in the administration and paperwork for the City's power skating programsAttend all training and staff meetings as scheduledNote: the above duties and responsibilities are not to be construed as all-inclusive.Required QualificationsStandard First Aid with CPR-C or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AEDExperience working with children & youthSkilled skater with experience teaching/coaching skate programs We thank all applicants who apply but advise that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
