Loader OperatorCompany: Infracon Group of CompaniesLocation: Prince Rupert, BCType: Full-Time / Project-BasedWage Range: $37.00 – $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualificationsAbout the RoleThe Infracon Group of Companies is seeking experienced Loader Operators for a municipal sewer and water infrastructure project in Prince Rupert, BC.This role is best suited for a skilled operator with experience supporting underground utility construction, material handling, truck loading, backfilling, trench support, site cleanup, and general earthworks associated with municipal sewer, water, and civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be confident operating a loader around active excavations, utility crews, survey controls, truck traffic, other equipment, and changing site conditions.We are looking for an operator who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the importance of safe production, and works effectively alongside supervisors, forepersons, labourers, pipelayers, truck drivers, and other equipment operators. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major municipal infrastructure project while working with an experienced civil construction team.Loader OperationOperate wheel loaders safely and efficiently in support of municipal sewer, water, drainage, and civil construction activitiesLoad trucks with aggregates, spoil, bedding material, and construction materials while maintaining safe loading practicesPerform material handling, stockpiling, backfilling, and site cleanup activitiesSupply pipe crews and construction teams with materials as requiredMove, spread, level, and place materials including gravel, sand, bedding material, topsoil, and backfillSupport excavation, utility installation, road reconstruction, and general earthworks operationsWork to grade using survey stakes, plans, laser systems, GPS, or direction from supervisors and survey crewsOperate safely around workers on foot, excavators,



packers, trucks, and other heavy equipmentFinishing & Grade WorkPerform accurate grading, leveling, and material placement to meet project specificationsSupport preparation of pipe bedding, trench backfill, road structure, and utility corridorsRead and understand grade stakes, site markings, drawings, and field directionMaintain strong attention to detail when working near existing underground utilities and infrastructureIdentify potential issues with grade, drainage, access, or site conditions and communicate them to supervisionSupport efficient sequencing of underground construction activities to reduce rework and maintain productivityWhat You BringStrong loader operating experience in civil construction, municipal infrastructure, underground utilities, road construction, or earthworksExperience supporting sewer, watermain, storm, or drainage installation projectsAbility to safely perform truck loading, stockpiling, material handling, and backfilling operationsExperience working around trenching, excavations, underground utilities, and pipe crewsUnderstanding of grade requirements, survey controls, and civil construction practicesStrong awareness of safety requirements around underground infrastructure and active construction operationsReliable, team-oriented, and committed to producing quality workQualifications & Experience1–3 years of experience operating a wheel loader on civil construction or municipal infrastructure projects is requiredExperience operating loaders, skid steers,



or excavators in production or civil construction settings.Experience supporting sewer, water, storm, drainage, roadworks, or earthworks projects is strongly preferredValid Class 5 Driver's Licence required; Class 3 or Class 1 considered an asset.Civil construction safety certifications including CSTS, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, First Aid, or similar are considered assetsExperience working around underground utility installations is considered a solid assetAbility to work independently and within a team, adapting to changing priorities and site conditions.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditionsMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaBasic PPE requirements: worker must supply boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat, and safety glasses; specialized PPE provided by the company.Strong communication skills and ability to take direction.Physical DemandsFrequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, and climbing in and out of heavy equipment.Ability to perform physical labour and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, and heavier materials with assistance when required.Comfortable working around excavations, underground utilities, heavy equipment, truck traffic, and uneven terrain.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including rain, wind, cold, heat, mud, and dust.Ability to support field crews with labour duties as required while maintaining safe work practices.What We OfferWage range of $37.00 – $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualificationsFull-time and project-based opportunities may be availableBenefits and applicable company programs may be available based on employment status and eligibilityProject-specific compensation terms, travel, LOA, rotation, or accommodation details may vary by assignmentOpportunity to support municipal infrastructure, roadwork, underground utility, and civil construction projects across Western Canada
