We help organizations find and book the right hotels and venues for their meetings, conferences, and incentive travel. We handle sourcing, proposals, contract negotiation and more, saving our clients time and money. Our clients range from large national associations to Fortune 500 corporations and beyond.

As an extension of our services, Sandbox Events specializes in delivering a comprehensive range of customizable event management and support services tailored to meet our clients' unique needs. Our SSS services are provided to clients at no cost, while our SBE services are offered for a fee. Together, these services provide clients with a single, trusted partner throughout the entire event lifecycle, from the initial venue search through to event execution.

Who We're Looking For
In keeping with Strategic Site Selection's mission to provide The Best Site Selection Experience, the Key Account Manager will build and maintain lasting relationships with existing and future clients. A successful Key Account Manager will understand and anticipate client needs, sourcing and contracting the ideal venue space for their upcoming meetings and events.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain trust and relationships with the organization's existing and future clients, suppliers and partners

Identify and assess client needs to achieve satisfaction, anticipating potential issues before they occur

Research destinations and hotels to source the perfect venue for our clients' events

Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs)



and distribute them to selected hotels via Cvent

Accurately summarize hotel proposals and present them to clients in a timely manner

Negotiate guestroom rates, meeting space, liabilities and other terms with venues

Thoroughly review contracts against an approved list of clauses to ensure a robust and accurate final agreement between the venue and the client

Recognize opportunities to up-sell our partnerships or cross-sell our sister company, Sandbox Events

Handle client issues, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives within time limits and following up to ensure resolution

Answer and respond to phone calls, emails, inquiries and other requests

Regularly and accurately enter data and information into the company CRM (Salesforce) to keep thorough records for every client and program

Produce documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations as needed

Occasionally attend site inspections, off-site supplier meetings and industry events

Contribute to the company's overall growth and success

Grow with the role, which will keep developing as the organization grows

What You Bring

Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or Hospitality, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

3+ years of experience in the hotel and/or event management industry

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Teams

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional client service, follow-through,



attention to detail and timely responses for clients

Self-motivated, with the ability to work well both in a team and independently

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to recognize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize to manage workload

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal professionally with people internally and externally while resolving issues and meeting objectives and timelines

Nice to have

Experience with Salesforce and Cvent (a huge asset)

Bilingual in English and French

Based in Ontario

Job Type

Employment type: Full-time, permanent

Location and work model: Remote

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, 40 hours per week

Travel: Occasional travel for site inspections, supplier meetings, industry events, and internal meetings

Reports to: Associate Director, Account Management

Start date: As soon as possible

Compensation
$60,000 – $67,000 per year, depending on experience, plus commission and bonus opportunities (if applicable).
