Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District
Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible schedule
Salary Or Wage: $36.10 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
Job Type: Part Time
List of Requirements Degree in a field appropriate to the position
Three years of relevant experience
Clear criminal record check
Specialized knowledge of sexualized violence and abusive relationships
Strong understanding of anti-oppression perspectives and approaches in relation to sexualized violence and abuse for all persons
Experience working within a feminist and/or social justice organization
High level of comfort and proficiency in public speaking
Experience in curriculum development and facilitating workshops
Understanding of cross-cultural and diversity issues and the ability and experience in supporting persons of all cultures and diverse backgrounds
Valid BC driver’s license and access to a safe and reliable vehicle
Valid first aid/CPR certification
List of Duties The SAS Worker will focus on community outreach and engagement including prevention, education, and awareness-raising.
Actively connect with possible referral sources to promote the SAS program
Maintain familiarity and communication with community service agencies to facilitate appropriate referrals
Provide services to more locations in qathet such as Texada Island, Lund, and Tla’amin Nation
Develop and facilitate education programs and public education workshops for all ages within qathet including schools, professional teams, and the general community
This is a temporary position which ends March 31, 2026.
Ability to be flexible with days and times worked is an asset.
