The following temporary RECE position is available:1.0 FTE - Holy Spirit CES (C)October 5,2026 to June 29, 2027General Description of Duties:The responsibilities of the position include collaborating withother educatorsto plan and implement the Early Learning Kindergarten program within a classroom setting and/or taking the lead in implementing age appropriate learning for groups of students as part of the Extended Day Program.The RECE will deliver faith-based Early Learning Programs in an environment that enhances childrens cognitive, physical, social, spiritual and emotional development.Responsibilities for Both Kindergarten and Extended Day Programs:Partner withclassroom educatorsand other designated staff to plan and implement the EarlyLearning Kindergartenand Extended Day Program(s) through developmentally appropriate curriculum-based activitiesCollaborate withclassroom educatorsand other designated staff to support individual students identified needs, strengths, interests and stages of developmentObserve, monitor and assess the development of pupils in Kindergarten and/or Extended Day ProgramCollaborate withclassroom educatorsand special education teacher to carry out specialized activities to support learning for students requiring an Individual Education Plan (IEP)Collaborate with Extended Day team to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the Extended Day Program expectationsMaintain a healthy, physical, emotional and social learning context for studentsProvide a variety of experiences to strengthen pro-social skills such as sharing, problem solving and cooperationProvide guidance in washroom routines, dressing and lunchtime activitiesMaintain appropriate records for students (e.G. health, attendance, etc.) respecting confidentiality and adhering to all privacy legislationCollaborate and maintain set-up of classroom (e.G. display, organization of materials etc.)Where applicable, attend staff meetings,
appropriate school-level meetings and professional development activitiesPerform related administrative functions as required such as attendance and billing in the extended day programComplete any duties as assigned by Administrator or ECE SupervisorApplication Requirements to be considered for permanent assignments:Member in Positive Standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.You are not required to hold the Catholicity requirements to apply for this position. However, preference will be provided to those applicants that meet the Catholicity requirements.External applicants must include a cover letter and resume. Internal applicants, including those on the RECE supply list are not required to submit a cover letter and resume.Schedule and Hours of Work:hours of work to be confirmed by the Administrator in coordination with the ECE SupervisorFull-time positions: 7 hours/day plus 1⁄2 to 1 hour per day unpaid lunchPart time positions: 3.5 hours/daySchedules will vary from school to school and will range from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.At WCDSB, we are committed to respecting your privacy and will take appropriate measures to protect any personal information you may share with us through the job application process.
