EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ADVISOR
PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates programs in more than 240 schools providing before and after school care. PLASP also operates 38 full-day early learning and child care centres and 6 EarlyON locations for children from 0 - 6 years.

Reporting to the HR Manager, Employee Experience, the Employee Relations Advisor provides guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace conflicts, investigations, accommodations, and policy interpretation, while supporting a positive, inclusive, and engaging employee experience.
The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:
Provides day-to-day HR support and coaching to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, discipline, employee conflict, terminations, and workplace accommodations
Leads and supports workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, and policy violations, including analysis of findings and preparation of recommendations
Prepares clear, well-organized, and comprehensive investigation reports and employee relations documentation
Prepares formal documentation for employee disciplinary matters in accordance with company policy
Coaches and supports managers in conducting difficult conversations
Interprets and applies HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment legislation to support managers with sound decision-making
Partners with the Benefits & Disability Specialists and provides support with workplace accommodation, disability management, return-to-work, and attendance management processes
Collaborates with Health and Safety Specialist and provides support with matters related incident reviews and implementation of corrective actions
Identifies & analyzes employee relations trends; provides data-informed insights and recommendations to mitigate risks
Contributes to HR projects and initiatives
Delivers HR-related training as required
Supports HR Manager, Employee Experience by assisting with the implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing PLASP's overall employee experience
Works in partnership with HR Manager, Employee experience and DEI Manager to support Diversity & Inclusion Program, as needed
Provides ongoing support to the Employee Experience Team
A University degree or post-graduate certificate in Human Resources
CHRP/CHRL designation an asset
A Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on employee relations
Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations cases
Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Human Rights Code, and WSIB.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
Experience Child Care Services is an asset
Proven ability to collaborate, mediate and resolve conflicts
Sound judgement and discretion in making informed decisions
Adaptable and solutions oriented
Advanced computer skills, including, MS Office, HRIS with databased management systems

Salary Range (Based on experience and qualifications): $73 151 - $86 867
