We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Engineer Student at Minnesota Ore Operations. The Internship affords the opportunity to apply educational experiences to real world engineering principals. This position is a temporary full-time position for the summer of 2027 and will be located at Keetac in Keewatin, MN. This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing.Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Report directly to plant managers and work along-side the process plant engineers and shift managers.Perform measurements and analysis for the predictive and preventative maintenance program.Participate in engineering of upgrades to plant equipment.Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine potential solutions.Work with suppliers to trial parts and equipment in the plant.Requirements:Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2027 and be in good academic standing.Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.Be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.Preferred Skills:We are looking for motivated self-starters that can work in a fast paced, data-driven environment. The successful undergraduate will be an analytical problem solver, have an extremely high level of customer focus and a passion for process improvement. In addition, a successful intern will have:Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and an aptitude for your area of studyA strong record of team,
project and/or people leadership in a work setting and/or extracurricular activitiesA willingness to take initiative to understand the businessAn aptitude for problem solving; strong writing and verbal communication skillsA strong commitment to excellence and to personal and professional growthMust be resourceful, responsible, tenacious, curious, independent, confident and high energyThe ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Leadership and strong decision-making skillsAbility to think and act both strategically and tacticallyRate: $24-$26 /hr.
