Ability to work extended hours as volume and scope requires, including attending meetings and departmental emergency situations, which may be outside of normal business hours.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Deputy Chief, Operations, this position is responsible for various aspects related to fleet, equipment and supply management, including distribution, specification development, maintenance and decommission of ambulances and Emergency Response Units (ERU) to ensure compliance with provincial legislation and regulations, corporate policies and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLC) certification standards.Essential DutiesCoordinate the maintenance of fleet, including repairs, preventative maintenance, emission testing and annual inspections in accordance with required legislative standards and certificationsTrack fleet maintenance, vehicle related expenses and prepare reports using ACETECHMaintain asset records, asset tracking, maintenance schedules, medical consumables supply and demand through OperativeIQ softwareReceive, process and deliver inventory for Paramedic Services operations,



ensuring inventory control software is updated and maintained; notify management of inventory requiredEnsure appropriate and cost-effective usage and deployment of equipment and supplies in accordance with quality assurance standardsEnsure patient care equipment is picked up, cleaned and repaired as needed from local hospitals and returned to the appropriate Paramedic Services baseConduct minor repairs and general maintenance, including minor vehicle repairs at Paramedic Services bases, as necessaryResponsible for stretcher maintenance, repairs and testing as well as maintenance of oxygen equipment records in accordance with MOHLTC standardsConduct deep cleans on all fleet vehicles in accordance with MOHLTC and departmental standardsAssist in preparation, organization and follow-up regarding MOHLTC service reviewsParticipate in Public Relations programs and events, as required.As a Member Of The Professional TeamAdminister procedures and recommend resources to achieve strategic objectivesComplete continuous research and analysis of industry trends and issues to make recommendations to management and remain current in area of specialtyManage stakeholder interactions in the supply and receipt of information, analysis, and resolution of issuesPartner with internal process or program owners to share program objectives, analyze gaps, provide advice on actions to be incorporated in other's processes, act as a program/service championManage customer service concerns, investigating, problem solving and responding as appropriateMaintain documentation and or databases and corporate records in accordance with policy and divisional practice; consider legislative municipal requirements such as MFIPPAProvide data to allow reporting and decision makingProcure services and goods related to areas of responsibilityContribute to the development of annual program needsProvide other related duties as assigned.QualificationsSecondary school diploma with additional education in Materials Management or a related discipline is an asset; post‐secondary diploma in Paramedicine or a related field is preferredMinimum one (1) year of related progressive experience in fleet management and/or inventory managementStryker Power Cot Maintenance certified is an assetDemonstrated experience in general automotive mechanicsDemonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation including the Ambulance Act, Highway Traffic Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act; MOHLC policies, procedures, guidelines and specifications related to fleet management, equipment and supplies; MOHLC Emergency Health Services division vehicle requirements and standardsDemonstrated time‐management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with minimal supervisionDemonstrated problem solving and decision making skillsEffective oral communication and strong interpersonal skills; excellent written communication skills; attention to detail andaccuracyDemonstrated customer service skills at a level to develop and maintain cooperative/team-oriented working relationships both within and outside the organizationDemonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact and maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times, complying with all applicable privacy legislation and local policies and proceduresDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet and any other related softwarePossess and maintain current First Aid and CPR certificationPossess and maintain a valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's LicencePossess and maintain an acceptable Criminal Record.
