The University of British Columbia seeks a Counsellor specializing in Varsity Athletics Mental Health & Performance. This position involves providing individual counselling, workshops, and programming designed to support student-athletes. You will work collaboratively with a team to implement wellbeing services that meet the unique demands of high-performance athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide short-term counselling to varsity athletes
• Develop and deliver wellbeing programming and workshops
• Conduct triage and connect students to resources
• Offer mental performance consultations to teams
• Collaborate with coaches on mental health strategies
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or related field
• Minimum five years of clinical counselling experience
• Knowledge of sport or performance psychology
• Ability to work with diverse perspectives
• Robust communication and collaboration skills
