The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. We share a common management structure with one CEO. We have a commitment to partnership and common Mission, Vision and Values. The Alliance Board consists of both hospital boards combined. We look for opportunities to create and share services and programs across our two communities and to look for creative ways to link to our community partners.The Listowel Memorial Hospital has been providing acute care and complex continuing care services to the residents of North Perth and the hospital's catchment area since 1919. Our fully accredited hospital offers a wide range of primary and secondary services including 24-hour emergency services. In-patient and out-patient care, specialist clinics and supportive diagnostic services. including 24-hour emergency coverage.Hospital services include:Emergency department with 24-hour on-call coverageRehabilitation department including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathologyMultiple outpatient specialist clinics held on a regular basis to provide local serviceAffiliation with London Regional Cancer Centre enabling chemotherapy treatment to be provided locallyMany community health related education programsFully integrated electronic patient health record with Family Health Team and Physician offices.Position: Human Resources SpecialistRegion: Huron and PerthDescription:Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources (HR) Specialist is responsible for coordinating a number of the LWHA HR policies and programs. An incumbent may be assigned to one or several of the following program areas: employee & labour relations, training and development, recruitment & selection, orientation, benefits & compensation, recognition and retention, leaves administration and equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism (EIDAR). The HR Specialist promotes effective working relationships with all stakeholders and aims to resolve issues or concerns in a timely manner by applying appropriate legislation, policy or collective agreement as applicable in efforts to drive consistent quality services. This is a temporary, full-time position that is anticipated to begin November 1, 2026 and extend through February 11, 2028. The successful candidate will be available Monday to Friday, for 37.5 hours per week.Responsibilities:Promote supportive and engaging Employee and Labour Relations to all stakeholders in efforts to avoid issues, grievances and disputes, and to support during negotiationsProvide consultation, guidance and support for leaders in order to promote consistent application and understanding of HR programsDeliver the full recruitment program, coordinate recruitment events.Responsible for effective general orientation and onboarding for all new staffCoordinate high-school and post-secondary student placementsPrepare employment offers ensuring that they meet organizational expectations for non-union and union positionsPrepare and monitor portability of service documents,



prepare paperwork and status change for retiring and employees going on leaves of absenceMeet with employees and provide information related to leave of absence, effective of absence, etc.Enter new employee and change of status of employees into HRIS softwareAdministration of benefits including extended health, dental, group life and AD&DLead Organizational training and development as well as implement and maintain processes for tracking attendance and completion of training programsLead the organizational recognition program and provide recommendations for improvement and enhancements as neededSupports leaders with the development of job descriptions and updates and maintains job description as required. Maintains and updates the performance appraisal process and documents as required,Lead or support HR-related projects,Ensure effective interface between scheduling, payroll and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and monitor and update as needed.Develop reports and audits as necessary to support problem identification or evaluation of HR programs as appropriateCompletion of various survey as requiredAssists with the development and maintenance of HR policies, and applicable education consistent with legislation and best practicesSupport for the Joint Health and Safety Committee as requiredCoordinate annual maintenance review for CUPE, management and non-union job evaluation / pay equity.Relief of security authorization for current hires, contractors, volunteers, students for identification and access rightsScheduling and timekeeping relief as neededHealth and Safety Officer relief and support as neededSupports with EIDAR initiatives that support the advancement of a diverse, inclusive culture and patient careSupport with the development and delivery of EIDAR educationProvides support and guidance to staff on all EIDAR issuesLead, support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on the HR Operational PlansActive member of HR team meetings and huddlesComplete seniority assessments and calculationsQualifications:Community College Diploma in Human Resources or a related fieldCertified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation considered an asset3 years of recent and related experience; acute care preferredMinimal physical effortHigh degree of mental effort and analysisSalary: $37.15 - $46.41 (5 step grid based on experience)Terms of Employment: Temporary, full-timeDeadline for Application: Sunday, November 29, 2026The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
