Position Summary
Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructors are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that supports adult learners in achieving program outcomes and meeting regulatory requirements. Instructors engage learners through discussion, hands-on activities, and assessments while creating a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Contract

Till June 25, 2027

9:00am - 3:30pm - 25 hours of in-class instruction, based on a 30-hour work week

Responsibilities

Deliver Adult Basic Education courses

Develop and/or adapt assessments to meet learner needs

Maintain student records including attendance and progress reports

Support learners in achieving their personal,



academic, and career goals

Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom workplace

Liaise with administration, support staff, and community partners as required

Manage daily operations of the classroom, including scheduling and reporting

Maintain a professional demeanor at all times

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Education - Math, Science or English

Effective communication, problem-solving and classroom management skills

Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet set deadlines

Experience in providing differentiated instruction

Ability to work independently in a remote or satellite environment

Proficiency in the use of educational technology and online learning tools
