Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a caring, experienced, and collaborative Early Childhood Educator (EA4) to join our Pre-Kindergarten team in either the Gibbons area, or Bon Accord area. Location will be finalized upon hire.Working alongside a certificated teacher and Educational Assistants, you'll play a leadership role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. Through play-based learning, strong relationships, and intentional programming, you'll help build the foundation for each child's future success.Why This Role MattersThe Early Childhood Educator plays a vital role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning. During the early years, children develop the skills, confidence, and relationships that shape their future success both in and beyond the classroom. Through purposeful play, responsive teaching, and nurturing relationships, this role helps children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically in an inclusive environment where they feel safe, valued, and capable. Working collaboratively with families, teachers, and support professionals, the Early Childhood Educator helps ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive from the very beginning of their educational journey.What You'll Be DoingLead engaging, play-based learning experiences that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language developmentCreate a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supportedPlan and implement developmentally appropriate learning opportunities aligned with early childhood best practicesCollaborate with the classroom teacher, Educational Assistants, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support each child's individual learning goalsProvide leadership, guidance,



and mentorship to Educational Assistants within the Pre‐K classroomSupport children with diverse learning, behavioural, medical, and personal care needs with compassion and dignityObserve, document, and communicate children's growth and development to support programming and family engagementFoster positive relationships with families through ongoing communication and collaborationSupport positive behaviour strategies that promote self-regulation, independence, and social-emotional developmentMaintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment while supporting effective classroom operationsWhat Success Looks LikeChildren are engaged in meaningful, play-based learning experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, and independenceA safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment supports the diverse developmental needs of every childStrong, trusting relationships are established with children, families, and school staffIndividual learning goals are supported through thoughtful observation, planning, and responsive instructional practicesEducational Assistants are provided with clear guidance, support, and collaboration to ensure consistent programming and student successPositive behaviour strategies are implemented proactively, helping children develop self‐regulation and social‐emotional skillsFamilies are informed, welcomed, and actively engaged as partners in their child's learning.Classroom routines, learning materials, and resources are organized to promote exploration, independence,
