You'll be trusted to take ownership, follow your curiosity, and help shape the evolution of Boast's technology-enabled service.About the RoleAs a Director, Business Development, you'll be instrumental in expanding Boast's presence by building new business, developing your territory, and helping growth-oriented companies access R&D tax credit funding with greater confidence and clarity.This is a senior, full-cycle sales role for someone who knows how to create opportunity, not just manage what is handed to them. You'll be responsible for sourcing qualified leads, cultivating relationships, leading initial conversations, delivering presentations and proposals, negotiating, closing, and supporting a strong transition into delivery.You'll build relationships with founders, CEOs, CFOs, CTOs, finance leaders, technical executives, referral partners, and innovation-driven companies across your market. You'll also work closely with the management team to develop sales strategies that align with Boast's broader growth and marketing initiatives.The right person will bring commercial maturity, strong executive presence, and a disciplined hunting mindset. You should be comfortable building your own pipeline, showing up in market, adapting your messaging in real time, and selling a complex B2B solution to senior stakeholders.This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial, strategic seller who thrives on front-line business development, understands how to build trusted relationships, and wants meaningful ownership in a high-growth company modernizing how businesses access innovation funding.Location: Hybrid role,
ideally based in Vancouveror the Greater Vancouver AreaIn-person collaboration: Expected to work in-person in Vancouver on occasion and participate in local market-building activityCompensation: The expected base salary for this role is $90,000–$100,000 CAD, with additional commission-based earnings. The expected on-target earnings (OTE) are approximately $180,000–$200,000 CAD, reflecting the significant earning potential for someone who can build pipeline, develop their territory, and close meaningful new business.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish, develop, and maintain relationships with prospective clients, referral partners, and senior decision-makers to generate new business consistently at or above quotaBuild and manage self-generated pipeline through outbound prospecting, referral relationships, events, market research, and strategic territory developmentOwn the full sales cycle from initial conversation through discovery, qualification, presentation, proposal, negotiation, closing, and transition into deliveryQualify prospective clients by understanding their business, technical work, innovation activity, funding needs, and potential eligibility for R&D tax credit programsDevelop deep expertise in SR&ED, R&D tax credits, government incentives, Boast's platform, and the broader innovation funding landscapeMaintain a healthy, accurate sales pipeline with strong CRM hygiene, forecasting discipline, clear next steps, and consistent follow-throughRepresent Boast in-market by researching and attending industry events, seminars, trade shows, conventions, networking opportunities, and local business communitiesPlan and manage your personal sales strategy by focusing time and effort where it will create the strongest commercial outcomesPartner with SDRs, RevOps, Client Delivery, Technical Solutions, Marketing, and leadership to improve conversion, handoffs, client experience, and revenue outcomesStay engaged through the sales-to-delivery transition to maintain client momentum, clarify expectations, and support a solid experience after closeWhat You BringBachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with the ability to quickly grasp technical and financial concepts8+ years of experience managing and closing complex B2B sales cycles, ideally with senior stakeholders such as CEOs, CFOs, CTOs, founders, finance leaders,
